Australia needs to join us in the pledge but do the work: US Deputy Special Envoy for Climate
๐๏ธ NEW PODCAST AUSTRALIAN EXCLUSIVE: Richard Duke ๐บ๐ธ
Gโday Fearmongers,
Once in a while I get to sit down with a big dog in climate, and they donโt get much bigger than the United States of America, the great dane of climate dogs if you will.
Last week I had the privilege of talking with Rick Duke, Deputy Special Envoy for Climate for the USA.
Rick was in Australia for split second doing a victory lap of the globe after the Inflation Reduction Act passed the senate and was signed into law by President Biden in the USA only a few weeks ago.
The IRA is a huge deal for climate โ for a deep dive I highly recommend listening to the 4 hours of conversations that David Roberts has done on the IRA over at the Volts Podcast.
Rick and I only had limited time, so we did a quick drive by of things close to my heart:
The IRA
Australiaโs role in Asia
Australiaโs Scope 3 emissions.
Methane
Small Island States
Big thanks to the U.S. Consulate in Sydney for hooking up this conversation, and big thanks to the Patreon supporters. This interview involved a few big costs to get in the can, and I canโt do this work with out your support. Please chip in if you can.
Cheers
Dan Ilic
Deputy Special Podcaster for Climate
